Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), located in Port Blair, is the oldest engineering college in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Established in 1984 as a government polytechnic, it was renamed and upgraded to an institute of technology in 2010. It is affiliated with Pondicherry University for its degree programs and approved by AICTE.
