Visit Kalipur Beach in Diglipur, famous for turtle nesting, black sand shoreline and peaceful surroundings.

Kalipur Beach, situated in the heart of Diglipur, is world-renowned as one of the most critical nesting sites for sea turtles. Featuring a unique volcanic black sand shoreline and framed by the silhouette of Saddle Peak, it offers a rare, front-row seat to one of natureβs most ancient rituals.
The Forest Department heavily protects this beach. Use of flashlights or camera flash is strictly prohibited as it disorients the turtles. Maintain complete silence and never touch the turtles or their eggs.
Kalipur is one of the few places in the world where four species of sea turtles (Olive Ridley, Leatherback, Hawksbill, and Green Turtles) come to nest. You can watch the Forest Department staff carefully monitor the sites, and if you are lucky, participate in the safe release of baby hatchlings into the ocean.
Staying at Pristine Beach Resort or Turtle Resort is highly recommended, as they are just meters away from the nesting action.
Seeing a giant sea turtle emerge from the waves under the moonlight is a life-changing experience. We can help arrange authorized forest guides for your nesting tour.
