Escape the commercialized tourist trails and step onto the pristine shores of Mark Bay Beach. Located on the uninhabited North Passage Island (just off the coast of Long Island), this hidden gem offers a true "castaway" experience with incredibly soft white sand, calm turquoise waters, and absolute solitude.
Mark Bay is 100% uninhabited. There are no shops, no changing rooms, and no drinking water. You must carry a packed lunch, sufficient water, and your own snorkeling gear. Please carry all plastic waste back to Long Island with you.
What sets Mark Bay apart is its perfect swimming conditions. The sea floor here is mostly soft sand without the sharp, dead corals found on many other Andaman beaches. The water is highly transparent, and the beach is lined with large, leaning trees that provide excellent natural shade for a midday picnic. During low tide, you can spot hundreds of tiny hermit crabs scurrying along the shoreline.
Most smart travelers charter a boat for the whole day to cover Mark Bay, Guitar Island, and Lalaji Bay Beach in one epic Long Island circuit.
